Job Title: Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Sunderland Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 As a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer, you will: * Play a key role in the design and development of bespoke heavy engineering equipment. * Working closely with an experienced engineering team and the shop floor welders and fabricators, you will turn concepts into practical designs that deliver real-world impact. * Your role as a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer will include creating and modifying 3D CAD models using Autodesk Inventor, producing and interpreting engineering drawings, and performing hand calculations to support safe and effective design. * You will also gain exposure to the full design-to-manufacture process, contributing to innovative projects that directly support the highways and infrastructure sector. Skills & Experience: * Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar discipline). * Experience with 3D CAD – Inventor is essential. * Strong ability to read and produce engineering drawings. * Competence in carrying out hand calculations. * Enthusiasm for working alongside fabricators and welders to see designs come to life.
