Job Title: Graduate Maritime Services Naval Architect Engineer

Location: Portsmouth Naval Base (Hampshire)

We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements; for this role you will be expected to attend site 5 days per week.

Salary: £34,000 + £2,000 Welcome Bonus

What You’ll Be Doing

Naval architects don’t just design and build ships; we are essential to keeping them safe throughout their life as well. Our understanding of ship design allows us to make critical decisions on maintenance and repair as well as integrating into them new capabilities that give the Royal Navy the advantage.

  • Designing structural changes, including using FEA.
  • Taking part in inclining experiments to assess the stability of ships.
  • Contributing to stability analyses using specialist software.
  • Contributing to the dry docking of ships.
  • Helping inspect ships to understand their state of repair and come up with repair solutions.
