A brilliant opportunity for a Graduate Software Test Engineer to work for a fast-growing company that develops industry-leading communication software and hardware. This role offers a unique chance to see the products you test being used on the live stage in broadcast and critical communications, including mission-control space travel! It is well suited to Mathematics or Physics graduates with some programming knowledge, a love for problem-solving, and a methodical work approach. Experienced test engineers are also welcome to apply. Location: Village near Cambridge, with driving advantageous; shuttle bus from the rail station available. Salary: £33,000 for graduates, £40,000 for experienced candidates, plus 8% pension, healthcare, and other benefits. Requirements for Graduate Software Test Engineer
Degree in a STEM subject such as Maths, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering, due to analytical role requirements; Physics or Mathematics backgrounds are preferred. Good programming knowledge in Python. Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail. Experience in testing code. Passion for problem-solving. Positive attitude and team spirit. Interest in a highly technical, problem-solving role rather than software development. Beneficial experience includes IP networking, scripting, and familiarity with Linux, Mac OS X, Windows.
Responsibilities
Writing automation tests using Python. Validating products against specifications. Validating user stories and bug fixes. Creating and executing test cases and plans. Running regression tests to verify system integrity. Supporting development by replicating field issues. Reporting issues via bug-tracking tools. Developing testing strategies. Collaborating within Agile teams.
