Join Jacobs as a Graduate Structural Engineer on the Advanced Facilities team in Glasgow. The Graduate Development Programme (GDP) is a structured two-year scheme designed to support your development at the start of your Jacobs career journey. Through blended learning, mentoring, progress reviews and networking, you will establish yourself across four focus areas: human skills, consulting skills, championing our strategy and your passions. The GDP allows you to customise your learning journey to reflect your interests, career goals and technical skillset. The programme is on-the-job focused, with learning derived from real project experiences in collaboration with your manager and mentor. This role involves working as part of a multi-discipline, highly interactive team delivering world-class designs for semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities and other state-of-the-art facilities for industry-leading clients worldwide.

Responsibilities and projects include feasibility studies, long-range planning studies, and full design services including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, and services during construction for design/bid/build and design/build projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a multi-discipline team on projects including semiconductor manufacturing, data centre facilities and other advanced manufacturing facilities.
  • Contribute to feasibility studies, long-range planning, and full design services from programming to construction phase support.
  • Collaborate with project managers and mentors to collect meaningful on-the-job learning experiences and meet targeted commitments in a fast-paced client environment.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Be working towards a relevant Degree or Masters in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • A flexible self-starter who is keen to drive your career forward
  • Adaptable to change with a thirst for learning
  • Permanent right to work in the UK
