Job Title: Graduate Structural Engineer
Location: York, UK
Salary: £26,000 – £30,000 per annum (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Company:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Structural Engineer to join a growing team in York. This role is ideally suited to a graduate with a good understanding of structural engineering principles and some prior exposure to the workplace, whether through a placement, internship, or relevant work experience.
About the Role:
The position offers involvement in a wide range of projects across residential, commercial, education, leisure, and industrial sectors. The successful candidate will benefit from structured training, mentoring, and support towards achieving Chartered Engineer status.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the structural design and analysis of buildings and infrastructure projects.
- Support project delivery from feasibility and outline design through to construction and handover.
- Undertake structural assessments, inspections, and surveys.
- Develop 3D models and drawings using BIM software (e.g., Revit).
- Prepare design calculations, reports, and documentation in line with Eurocodes and UK standards.
- Work closely with engineers, surveyors, and project managers within multidisciplinary teams.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (BEng/MEng or equivalent).
- A solid understanding of structural engineering principles.
- Some prior workplace exposure (e.g., placement, internship, or relevant work experience).
- Familiarity with, or willingness to learn, design and modelling software such as Revit.
- Understanding of UK design standards and Eurocodes.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- Motivation to progress towards Chartered Engineer status through an approved training scheme.
