Graduate Structural Engineer role at Amey

Location: Birmingham. Working hours: 40 per week (Monday – Friday). Start date: September 2026. Requisition ID: 8354.

Amey Consulting operates in the engineering consultancy sector, providing high quality consultancy services in rail, highways, power, asset management, environmental, sustainability and geotechnical. We maintain long relationships with clients such as National Highways and Network Rail.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Be part of an experienced Bridges and Civil Structures team working on projects across the UK and internationally.
  • Help develop practical, sustainable solutions for bridges and civil structures; from investigation to optioneering, feasibility, concept and detailed design, construction supervision and asset management.
  • Undertake structural analysis, design and assessment calculations.
  • Develop carbon and cost estimates, 3D models, drawings and technical documents.
  • Assist with bridge inspections, investigations, structural health monitoring, and supervision of works.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of data, analytics and digital technology solutions.

What We’re Looking For / Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree / PhD in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • An interest in bridges / civil structures
