Group Chief Engineer : Concept Engineering role at TipTopJob, located in the West Midlands, United Kingdom. Competitive salary plus car allowance, pension and benefits. This role is for an experienced engineering leader in the automotive industry who can drive the development of next-generation vehicles and coordinate cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire a team of engineers in the development of innovative automotive concepts across departments including body and trim, advanced manufacturing and PQ/Craftsmanship.
• Scope work, develop timing plans and key deliverables, assign tasks, and ensure delivery against required quality, cost and time.
• Drive the strategic direction of concept engineering projects, align with the company vision, and participate in cross-functional integration meetings.
• Supervise and validate Engineering BOMs development, cost and weight packs, and perform engineering and design feasibility checks to provide guidance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring new automotive technologies from concept to reality.
• Oversee technical quality and progress of engineering projects to meet industry-leading standards.
• Engage with stakeholders across the automotive industry to identify and leverage opportunities for innovation.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging creativity and technical excellence within the team.

The Group Chief Engineer : Concept Engineering will bring

• Proven experience in leading engineering projects within the automotive industry, including work on new vehicle programmes from concept.
• A strong background in automotive design and engineering, with a focus on body and trim.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to prioritise and allocate workload across a large engineering team and inspire others.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities, capable of working effectively across different teams and disciplines.
