About The Job

The Competition and Markets Authority has established an Executive Directorate for Data, Technology, and Insight (DTI), which encompasses expertise in data science, data engineering, artificial intelligence, behavioural science, technology insight, and digital forensics, as well as technology systems, architecture, digital products and tooling. The Technology and Digital (T&D) Department provides support and technical business solutions for CMA staff across all office locations and comprises five teams: Change Delivery, Service Desk, Infrastructure, Enterprise Application Solutions and End-User Computing (EUC).

The CMA is seeking a Head of Products and Applications to act as part Product Owner, part Business Relationship Manager and to be directly responsible for the second line team that supports our Enterprise Applications and Systems Development.

Job Description

What you will do

  • Provide support for critical applications used by CMA, including our ERP software Unit4 Business World (Agresso), and the Microsoft Office 365 ecosystem (including Dynamics 365, Digital Case Management System, SharePoint Online and associated SharePoint applications such as Casework Hub and RTP/STA), and other specialist applications.
  • Provide application team representation on ongoing application delivery projects as required.
  • Engage with all CMA departments and with external suppliers about introducing new solutions to improve business efficiency and security.

Person specification

  • Experience of working with and troubleshooting Unit4 Business World (Agresso), SharePoint Online and M365 Application Software
  • Significant experience leading enterprise application support teams using a product-based approach with Microsoft-based enterprise applications and Microsoft certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Dynamics 365, Power Platform)
  • Experience in IT Service Desk Procedures, Service Level Agreements and Supplier Management
  • Experience supporting internally developed applications and working in Agile/DevOps environments, with certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, Azure DevOps Engineer)
  • Experience in regulated or compliance-heavy environments and knowledge of vendor/third-party support management
  • Experience of service transition of software into BAU, knowledge of configuration, architecture and software testing
  • Experience in ITIL-based technical support, ITIL v4 foundation certificate preferred
  • Ability to learn and understand new applications to support users and manage deployment, upgrades and issue resolution
