6 months (Market Rate inside IR35) We are seeking a
High Voltage (HV) Charging Feature Engineer
to join a global engineering programme supporting the next generation of electrified vehicles. This role will focus on the design, development, testing, and delivery of HV charging functions across Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) and Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) platforms. Youll play a key role in ensuring compliance with international standards, integrating supplier-delivered code, and enabling products to meet global software and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop requirements to support new HV charging system features and functions. Benchmark new technologies to support electrification of BEV and PHEV products. Create and update standards in line with evolving global regulations. Issue test procedures and ensure HV charging features are validated and production-ready. Manage software requirements linked to HV charging system functions. Investigate and resolve software and hardware issues related to HV charging. Support development of rigs for software testing, debugging, and validation. Analyse diagnostics and prognostics data to verify charging performance on rigs and vehicles. Essential Skills & Experience Proven knowledge and practical experience with
High Voltage Electronic Charging Systems . Strong understanding of
software development processes
within automotive engineering. Experience with
Design & Release (D&R), quality processes, FMA, requirements, and standards writing . Project management, leadership, and planning skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Valid UK driving license. Desirable Skills & Experience Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or Automotive Engineering. 5+ years experience in HV charging features and controls for BEV/PHEV applications. Familiarity with
CAN/CAN-FD communication protocols . Experience with
Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) rigs . Knowledge of
Functional Safety (ISO 26262), Cyber Security requirements, and ASPICE .
