While your base will be in Stafford, we offer flexible working options and locations across the county, with highway maintenance teams in various areas.
Main ResponsibilitiesAs part of the Highways Maintenance and Network Management team, you will:
- Receive, prioritize, investigate, and respond to non-routine inquiries related to highway drainage and maintenance issues.
- Conduct investigations and apply engineering expertise to identify and prioritize solutions for highway issues.
- Prepare information for contractors, ensuring work complies with contractual and quality standards, maintaining good communication and relationships.
- Manage project budgets for drainage and minor capital maintenance works, ensuring accuracy and value for money, and support the development of capital programs.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with contractors, supply chain partners, councillors, customers, and stakeholders.
You should have experience in managing or delivering reactive, routine, and cyclical highway maintenance, along with:
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification.
- Knowledge of statutory obligations, inspections, and work procedures related to highway maintenance.
- Understanding of design standards and statutory requirements for highway drainage and maintenance.
- Ability to build and maintain partnerships for service delivery.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable for diverse audiences.
