Overview

HVAC Quality Assurance Engineer role at Darke & Taylor Ltd. Location: Visiting sites across London, Oxfordshire, and the Home Counties. Office located in Long Hanborough, Oxford. Start Date: ASAP. Hours: 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday; hybrid arrangement with time split between office and site locations. Salary: Competitive Rates. Responsibilities

  • Promoting positive safety awareness within Darke & Taylor Ltd.
  • Mentoring, developing, and training current and future generations of less experienced members of the D&T Mechanical & Electrical Teams.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the latest Regulations and Standards.
  • Providing guidance and advice to site and office management teams.
  • Carrying out Quality Assurance Mechanical audits across all Darke & Taylor Ltd projects.
  • Checking sub-contractors’ quality of installation and compliance against specification and drawings, while maintaining positive relationships with the Client/Main Contractor.
  • Working with Electrical colleagues to ensure full coordination of Mechanical sub-contractors and Electrical installations.
  • Creating audit reports and ensuring any shortfalls or required actions are followed up and closed in a timely manner.
  • Witnessing periodic testing of installations and ensuring installations meet client expectations.
  • Overseeing close-up/testing and commissioning on projects; monitoring installation processes to ensure systems are commissionable; overseeing functional testing of HVAC and Plumbing systems.
  • Managing installation staff and sub-contractors’ installation programmes and interactions with the Client/Main Contractor.
  • Continually reviewing control measures and procedures and updating where necessary.
  • Being available for reactive technical assistance as required.
  • Conducting and creating Pre-Purchase Audit reports to assess the current condition of Mechanical installations on projects.
  • Help build a D&T gold standard philosophy with other team members.
  • Keep CPD records up to date.

Skills and Experience

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good communication and literacy skills.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Previous site installation experience; suitable for a Senior Mechanical Supervisor/Site-Foreman/Installation Engineer.
  • Ability to work proactively on own and as part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work, PASMA, IPAF, Mental Health First Aid, Sewells ‘Working Miracles’ and Colour Profile completion. If not held, training will be provided.
