Our client is looking for an experienced Hydraulic Service Engineer, preferably with strong hydraulic background to join their team. Duties will involve hydraulic system maintenance, leading a job or a project from the enquiry stage to its successful completion.

The Hydraulic Service Engineer will be responsible for quoting and planning jobs, testing, servicing, repairing, and surveying/inspecting hydraulic systems. The successful candidate will build and maintain a good relationship with customers. You will be preparing all the technical documents, work instructions and RAMS, technical specifications, reports post intervention/inspection followed by a proposal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and clarify customer requirements
  • Make proposals and quotations
  • Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers for: Technical queries; Material costing and lead times; Subcontracted work (e.g. repairs)
  • Provide technical guidance to the customer and advise on system improvement
  • Prepare work files prior to start the job, detailed work instructions and RAMS
  • Complete work and inspection reports
  • System fault finding and testing
  • Hydraulic service i.e. oil replacement, filter replacement, pump efficiency test, etc.
  • Manufacturing of hoses
  • Rigid piping
  • Flushing and pressure testing
  • On-site servicing and fault finding
  • Select and size components
  • Resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceability of products
  • Plan workshop/on-site work and prepare required tooling
  • Filling/Verifying paperwork during the job
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirement
  • Essential Requirements

  • Experience working in hydraulic engineering: Commissioning of hydraulic equipment; Hydraulic service & fault finding; Hydraulic system manufacture; Rigid pipe installation; Hydraulic hose manufacture; Flushing and pressure testing
  • Interest in working both in a desk and workshop/on-site environment
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office packages including Excel and Word
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to handle multi-tasking
  • Full driving licence
  • Hydraulics/Fluid Power and Control: 5 years (preferred)
  • Service job quotation/management: 5 years (preferred)
