OverviewAt Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB) we are currently looking to add to our team through the appointment of a Senior Hydraulic Engineer. This is a chance to join a collaborative team within our United Utilities framework, supporting the delivery of a variety of projects as part of major capital investment programmes in and around the North West. We have been named a partner on a new AMP8 framework with United Utilities, which will extend our relationship for at least the next five years. The partnership is set to be responsible for over £3bn of major infrastructure in the North West of England. Investment includes upgrades to wastewater treatment works and reducing storm overflows through the delivery of the largest spill reduction programme in the UK, protecting more than 500km of rivers and bathing waters.ResponsibilitiesDelivering Hydraulic Engineering on a range of projects from feasibility through outline and detailed design stagesProducing and reviewing hydraulic calculations, HADES models, specifications, drawings and reportsEngaging with the Client, managing relationships and adopting a One-Team approach to support them in achieving their aimsMentoring more junior colleagues and providing technical guidance and advice on best practice in hydraulic design to othersWorking collaboratively across disciplines to ensure the efficient delivery of projects within the programmeProviding quality assurance of others work by undertaking check/review functionsCollaborating with the construction team and supply chain to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout the design stages, into construction and post project reviewQualificationsQualified to degree level, and ideally Chartered, Incorporated, or working towards with a relevant professional institution (ICE, IMechE, CIWEM)Proven track-record in providing outline design, detailed design and construction support services relevant to the water/wastewater sectorWealth of technical experience of water and wastewater hydraulic calculations/modelling for infrastructure and/or non-infrastructure projects, preferably in a design-and-build environmentCompetent in using HADES modelling software and other relevant packagesAble to explain hydraulic issues and techniques to non-hydraulic professionalsBenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experiencePension matched by employer up to 7%Option to purchase, sell and carry over annual leaveLife assurance / Private Medical Insurance / Critical Illness Insurance and Health Screening options26 weeks maternity leave, enhanced paternity and adoption leave/ Shared parental leavePayment of annual professional institution subscription costsGym Membership discounts UK wideCycle to work scheme, interest free season ticket loans and discounted dining cards also available #J-18808-Ljbffr
