The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a passion for reliability and performance. You will provide consultation and strategic recommendations by quickly assessing and remediating complex platform availability issues.
As part of the tech team, you will collaborate to bring innovative ideas to life that power systems, services, products, and platforms used by millions of customers worldwide.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on support for the runtime operation of applications, ensuring high availability and performance
- Collaborate with software engineering and infrastructure teams to troubleshoot and resolve runtime issues, including performance bottlenecks, scalability challenges, and system failures
- Contribute to the design and implementation of monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to proactively identify and address runtime issues
- Participate in incident response and root cause analysis to ensure stability and resilience
- Work with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and provide input on runtime and operational considerations during the software development lifecycle
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of runtime automation and tooling to streamline operational processes
- Manage time effectively and work independently and as part of a team
- Mentor peers and foster a culture of continuous learning
- Drive automation and ensure automated test scripts for new features
- Demonstrate a proactive attitude, strong communication, willingness to learn, and collaboration
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement
- Challenge the status quo and implement creative ideas
Minimum Qualifications
- BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent work experience
- Experience in software engineering, infrastructure operations, or a related field with a focus on runtime operations and application support
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and containerization; experience with critical business applications is a plus
- Familiarity with monitoring, logging tools, and incident management best practices
- Experience with system integration solutions (APIs and data integration layers, batch & real-time)
- Experience designing and developing mission-critical, highly available enterprise applications and performance tuning of Java applications
- Experience with CI/CD environments and platforms (Git, Maven, Jenkins)
- Good communication skills to explain concepts to product managers and business partners
- Hands-on experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., DB2, Redis, Postgres, Couchbase)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a diverse, team-focused environment
- Programming and scripting skills to automate operational tasks (e.g., Python, Ansible)
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with focus on timely resolution of runtime issues
- Strong collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork
