Eurofins Feltham, United Kingdom. Job Description for an IT Infrastructure Engineer. Working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. The role requires travel across Eurofins UK Forensics sites (Heathrow, Warrington, Tamworth, Abingdon) and a full UK driving licence is essential.

The IT Infrastructure Engineer will design, implement, and maintain core infrastructure systems across the enterprise environment. The candidate should have deep expertise in VMware, FC Storage, SAS Storage, Citrix (including ADC), and backup solutions (Commvault and Veeam). The role focuses on high availability, security, and performance across systems, supporting project delivery and ongoing operations.

Please note: security clearance is required for this role. Five years of continuous UK residency is needed to gain clearance. Drug and alcohol testing will be undertaken prior to commencing employment.

Responsibilities

  • Virtual Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain VMware-based virtual environments (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
  • Storage Systems: Manage FC and SAS storage infrastructure with a focus on performance and resilience.
  • Citrix Environment: Implement, administer and optimise Citrix (XenApp/XenDesktop) and NetScaler for secure application delivery – On-Prem and Cloud.
  • Backup & Recovery: Implement and manage enterprise backup solutions using Commvault and Veeam.
  • Physical Infrastructure: Lead installation and configuration of physical servers, SAN/NAS storage, and data centre hardware.
  • Monitoring & Maintenance: Monitor performance and capacity, perform routine maintenance, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Security & Compliance: Apply security best practices and support audits and compliance initiatives.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain architecture diagrams, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaboration: Work with networking, applications, and service desk teams to deliver robust solutions.
  • Support: Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support as needed, including user incidents and escalation management.

Qualifications

  • Proven hands-on experience supporting and managing enterprise infrastructure.
  • Citrix (NetScaler, Virtual Apps and Desktops)
  • VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)
  • SAN environments – Fibre Channel (FC) and SAS storage technologies
  • Qualys or similar vulnerability management platforms
  • Commvault and Veeam backup and recovery solutions
  • Physical server and storage hardware installation and maintenance
  • Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions
  • Exchange Server 2016/2019
  • SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager)
  • Active Directory Tiering Model and Group Policy Objects
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical projects and troubleshoot high-impact infrastructure issues
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and collaboration skills
