Infrastructure Engineer
Our client is an innovative defense technology company that builds cutting-edge autonomy software for unmanned systems. They have secured $10M in funding and have established relationships with defense customers. Their revolutionary approach involves rethinking autonomy from the chip up, utilizing modular AI, advanced visual-inertial sensing, and real-time edge compute technology to unlock next- mission capabilities.
We are seeking a high-caliber Infrastructure Engineer to lead and own the design, implementation, and day-to-day operations of their infrastructure stack across software and hardware development environments. This is a hands-on role for a self-starter who thrives in fast-moving environments, requires limited oversight, and is ready to grow into a leadership position as they scale.
Core Responsibilities:
Architect, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices Own and evolve CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and developer environments in Linux-based ecosystems Lead automation of provisioning, configuration, and system management for cloud and on-premises environments Support security compliance and audits, implementing controls, access policies, and secure workflows Administer local and cloud resources, including servers, VPNs, storage, and internal services Configure and maintain internal networks, firewalls, VLANs, and secure cross-domain communication Serve as primary point of contact for infrastructure troubleshooting and incident response
Required Qualifications:
Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, or equivalents) 510+ years of experience in infrastructure, DevOps, or SRE roles Deep proficiency with Linux systems, networking, firewalls, and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.) Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD tools (GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD) Experience with security protocols, IAM, container hardening, and compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST, etc.) Proven ability to operate autonomously and drive initiatives from start to finish Strong communication skills and foresight to build scalable systems from day one
Qualifications:
Experience supporting hardware/software integration environments Experience in regulated environments (defense, aerospace, medical, etc.) Experience with hybrid environments: bare metal, cloud, edge devices
