OverviewMethods Worcester, United Kingdom is an IT Services Consultancy focused on transformation, delivery, and collaboration for public sector and select private sector clients. This role: IT Infrastructure Engineer, responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of an Azure Stack Hub environment, and the physical networking and cabling that underpins data centers. You will work with cloud architects and system administrators to ensure seamless integration and performance across cloud and on‑premise systems.ResponsibilitiesAzure Management: Oversee the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of Azure resources; integrate and manage services such as Entra Governance within the Azure environment; monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize the performance of hybrid cloud environments; implement security measures to protect data and ensure compliance with relevant standards.Physical Network Setup: Rack and stack servers, switches, and other hardware for both Azure and on‑prem environments; pull, terminate, and test network cabling (CAT6, fiber optic); manage power distribution, cooling, and physical security within server rooms and data centers.Infrastructure Support: Collaborate with cloud architects, network engineers, and security teams; provide hands‑on support during network upgrades, data migrations, and deployment of new services within the Azure Stack Hub; troubleshoot and resolve hardware and connectivity issues promptly.Documentation and Compliance: Maintain comprehensive documentation for all infrastructure elements (cloud and on‑prem); ensure configurations align with security policies and industry regulations.Project Involvement: Participate in planning and execution of projects involving hybrid cloud environments; work with vendors and contractors to ensure successful project delivery.Qualifications and CertificationsHands‑on experience administering, configuring, and managing private‑cloud solutionsExperience administering a private‑cloud solution across multiple sitesUnderstanding of RPO/RTO and on‑premise backup solutionsExperience with traffic management and networking in a secure private‑cloud solutionUnderstanding of hardware redundancy and high availabilityAbility to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize private‑cloud performanceImplement security measures in line with best practices to protect sensitive data and ensure compliancePerform regular maintenance for on‑premise systemsMaintain comprehensive infrastructure documentationUnderstanding of administering Windows ServersCertifications (Nice to have): AZ-400 Azure Administrator Associate; AZ-800 Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate; Azure Stack Hub Operator Associate; Cisco CCNA; CompTIA Server+Ideal CandidateDemonstrates strong technical expertise in both cloud and on‑premise environmentsComfortable working hands‑on with physical infrastructure while also managing cloud‑based systemsProactive learner with up‑to‑date knowledge of hybrid cloud technologiesAbility to collaborate across teams to ensure seamless infrastructure managementSecurity ClearanceThis role will require you to have or be willing to undergo Security Clearance.
