OverviewSumitomo Mitsui Finance Dublin Limited (SMFD) is a wholly owned subsidiary of SMBC and is growing rapidly as a Centre of Excellence for the bank's universal banking business across EMEA. It provides a range of technology and operational support services aligned to SMBC's growth, innovation, and transformation strategies. This role requires in-office presence two days per week.ResponsibilitiesManage and maintain enterprise storage and backup systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and data integrity across a global infrastructure.Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise storage and data protection environments, including proactive incident response and lifecycle management of hardware and software.Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams and vendors to implement new solutions, support business continuity and disaster recovery plans, and ensure compliance with security and operational standards.Support business continuity and disaster recovery readiness across global data centres.Maintain technical documentation and integrate automation where appropriate.QualificationsStrong practical experience with enterprise storage and backup technologies (e.g. NetApp, Dell PowerMax/PowerStore, Rubrik).Solid understanding of networking, virtualisation, and data centre operations. Hands-on experience in managing hardware lifecycles and patching schedules.Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with the ability to work across global teams and manage vendor relationships effectively.Desirable: Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, APIs). Experience working in regulated, process-driven environments.Familiarity with enterprise server/storage hardware and cloud-based backup solutions.What will you bring to the role?
