This is an interesting and varied role where you will be responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining secure configurations, policies and updates across our server infrastructure. The role will allow you to develop your skills in areas such as technical change management, automation and secure IT operations.The successful candidate will work within a wider team to maintain a strong security stance, applying security updates and other countermeasures to ensure the integrity of all IT services. Confident in deploying and operating a variety of systems to ensure that all environments are available, reliable, secure and able to meet the demands placed upon it.Key Responsibilities IncludeBeing accountable for ensuring the infrastructure estate is suitably protected and up to date using tools such as SCCM, SCOM, inTune and other native update techniques to:Identify and remediate known IT security vulnerabilitiesDesign and implement solutions to mitigate vulnerabilities identified as part of penetration resultsProvide insight into the countermeasures PA should adoptWork as a technical resource in security related projectsReview daily security bulletins for threatsLiaise with security colleagues and key vendors reviewing threat reportsWork with other disciplines such as Networks and SQL Admins to assist implementing appropriate controlsDriving forward projects focussed on implementing new or updated IT security technologies and services alongside Technical Architects and Security Teams where appropriateSupporting business critical systems including the diagnostic and intervening actions required to keep services available for virtual hosting, operating systems, infrastructure services and SaaS productsAssisting with Disaster Recovery planning and testingCreating clear and concise reports as required to demonstrate the effectiveness of the environments in questionProviding technical support/input to team projectsOrganising maintenance periods including the variety of changes that take place to keep the infrastructure current and availableQualificationsStrong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Azure, Office 365, Hyper-V, VMware and SaaS Backup PlatformsExperience in securing and protecting assets from threats that could compromise the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the environmentGood knowledge of general infrastructure services and applications such as directory services, Entra ID, SCCM, SCOM and inTuneAbility to understand audit requirements and supporting compliance by providing responses to security audits (such as Cyber Essentials)Additional experience managing the hardware and software platforms associated with virtual technologies such as Cisco blades, HPe servers and NetApp would be beneficialDemonstrable troubleshooting capability and capable of working under pressureAbility to develop clear and concise documentationA self-starter, happy to work in isolation or as part of a larger team and able to use your own initiative rather than always relying on direction from othersAppreciate the importance of a high availability and secure systems and infrastructureAbility to communicate at all levels of an organisation with the ability to work effectively as part of a teamA keen interest in technology and the IT marketThis role would require some weekend working and occasional on-call duties, so flexibility is required.Additional informationLife At PA encompasses our peoples' experience at PA.
