Overview

Our client is a key player in the Defence & Security sector, currently seeking an In-Service Support Engineer to join their team in High Wycombe/West London. The role involves providing back-office engineering support to end users globally, ensuring mission success around the clock.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leading the delivery of In-Service support obligations, collaborating with the Project Manager, System Design Authority, and customers
  • Maintaining support project approaches in line with Defence Standards and customer contracts
  • Responding proactively to emerging technical issues, including customer fault reports
  • Collaborating with the engineering team to develop commercially and technically viable solutions
  • Managing and monitoring system performance, including root cause analysis of faults
  • Implementing programmes of inspection and preventative maintenance
  • Ensuring customer equipment remains safe for continued service
  • Coordinating with the field support team for defect investigations, surveys, and testing
  • Managing Integrated Logistics Support documentation and implementing change requests
  • Identifying resource conflicts or constraints for engineering management
  • Producing estimates and planning for new engineering work
  • Implementing obsolescence strategies for product lines

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher diploma in Engineering or related discipline. Relevant experience considered in lieu of formal qualifications
  • Experience in Defence engineering, particularly during the Integration, Test, and In-Service phases
  • Experience in a lead role within defence engineering and/or in-service support is desirable
  • Ability to define, lead, and deliver work packages per customer contracts
  • Experience in planning and executing support tasks on engineering projects
  • Understanding of engineering project management principles
  • Proven track record of working under tight time constraints in challenging contexts
  • Experience with maritime equipment is advantageous
