Instrument Field Service Engineer

In this position, we are seeking a Field Service Engineer, based in the area of Gloucestershire, who will manage overall support of our customers instrumentation installed base to insure customers expectations are met and exceeded to the highest level of professionalism. You will be responsible for a variety of duties within a defined territory, onsite at customer locations. You will manage the service needs of our installed customer base for all instrumentation, including first line maintenance and repair services, site installation, commissioning, start-up and after sales support. Responsibilities
Carry out installation/commissioning, fault analysis and repairs on Emerson instrumentation, including investigation of persistent or not easily resolvable problems being experienced at customer sites
Provide diagnostic, solving, calibration and start up and commissioning services
To provide on-site customer training where required
Be available to support the on-call Rota for instrumentation support
To assist Sales Engineers in the demonstration our products to potential customers and to provide guidance in product application and after sales service
Proactively identify Service/Product opportunities
Reporting performance measures on lead generation
Completion of all required reports, certificates and relevant documents
Full understanding of various service programs
Assist in the preparation of support literature for Sales opportunities
Be flexible to work throughout the British Isles, offshore or abroad and work unsociable hours including weekends to support customers

For This Role, You Will Need
HNC/level in an Engineering field, such as electronics, computer science or control engineering
Proven experience as an Instrument Engineer in a process control environment with a particular emphasis on installation, commissioning and start-up.
Clear and effective communication skills verbal and written
An understanding of C&I theory including Control loop configuration and tuning
Understand of a B2B service environment
Full clean UK driving license
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in repair and servicing of Emerson Process Management and/or competitor products would be an advantage
Strong IT skills
