Role - Intermediate Fire Engineer\n\nLocation - Manchester \n\nSalary - up to £40,000 \n\nAn established and growing consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Fire Engineer to join their team in Manchester. This role offers the chance to work on a wide range of projects across the UK, with a strong focus on design and consultancy rather than installation or maintenance.\n\nThe successful candidate will join a Fire Engineering practice of around 30 engineers, with growth plans for the Manchester office. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with a few years of experience who is ready to take on more responsibility and further develop their technical expertise.\n\nThe Role\n\nThe Fire Engineer will:\n\nDevelop fire strategies for projects across sectors such as defence, nuclear, transport, energy, and residential.\n\nContribute to fire and smoke modelling (CFD), performance-based design, and safety compliance.\n\nSupport projects from early design through to delivery.\n\nConduct fire risk assessments, technical reporting, and site visits.\n\nCollaborate with colleagues across the UK, contributing to technical development within the team.\n\nRequirements\n\nDegree in engineering (preferably fire engineering) or a postgraduate qualification in fire engineering.\n\n2-5 years' experience in a fire design/consultancy role.\n\nFamiliarity with fire safety standards (e.g.
