Overview

Position: Java Backend Micro services Engineer

Location: London, UK (Hybrid 3 days onsite a week)

Duration: Long Term B2B Contract

Responsibilities

• Look for 12+ years candidates who can lead a team and have excellent hands on coding experience
• Proficiency in Java, including Java 8 and above
• Experience in designing microservices, developing, and deploying microservices
• Strong knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and other Spring components
• Expertise in building and consuming RESTful microservices
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL
• Strong knowledge on cloud services such as AWS
• Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Strong knowledge of Git and version control practices
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging frameworks
• Knowledge of DevOps principles and practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with stakeholders
• Proficient in implementing unit and integration tests using testing frameworks

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience with leadership and hands-on coding
• Java 8 and above
• Experience with designing, building, and deploying microservices
• Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring ecosystem expertise
• RESTful microservices design and consumption
• SQL and NoSQL databases experience (PostgreSQL)
• AWS cloud services knowledge
• Docker and Kubernetes
• Git and version control practices
• Messaging systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Monitoring/logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
• DevOps practices
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
