Overview

Be-IT is looking for a talented Java software engineer to join an incredibly efficient team and work for a well known global brand. As a Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and continuously improve software solutions that enable business, platform, and technology capabilities for both our customers and colleagues. You will play a key role in shaping the digital landscape, applying modern engineering practices to deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Design and deliver high-quality software using industry-standard programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensure code is scalable, maintainable, and optimised for performance.
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to define requirements, design solutions, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Code Quality: Participate in peer reviews, promote best practices, and contribute to a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
• Innovation: Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies. Share insights within technology communities to foster innovation and continuous improvement.
• Security: Apply secure coding practices to minimise vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and deliver robust software solutions.
• Testing: Implement effective unit testing practices to ensure code reliability, readability, and maintainability.

Skills & Experience

Required:

• Strong experience with Java / Spring
• Front-end development with Angular or React

Highly desirable:

• Experience with SASS/CSS
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• An inquisitive, driven mindset with a passion for problem-solving
• Banking/Investment banking experience

The details

• Full-time, permanent role based in Glasgow.
• Up to £70k base for the right candidate + bonus.
• Hybrid working - twice a week in the Glasgow office, 3 days working from home.
• The right to work in the UK - no sponsorship can be provided at this time
