We are working with a long-standing client of ours based in Wythenshawe who are experts in the aviation industry who are looking for a Design Engineer.
The Job
* Designing and developing aircraft soft furnishings for the civil and military aviation industry.
* Generating production drawings for components and assemblies, using written specifications.
* Working closely with the Office to maintain compliance with appropriate regulations.
* Processing drawing change requests in accordance with our change management procedure.
* Reverse engineering components for product improvement or changes using 2D metrology equipment.
* Overseeing work through the business workflow and into full-scale production
* Supporting and working closely with other departments of the business and suppliers where required.
* Attending internal and customer-facing meetings as and when required
About you
* Degree-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in engineering field.
* Experience using Solidworks
* Can generate production drawings in AutoCAD or similar 2D CAD application.
* An understanding of Design for Manufacture (DfM)
* Can use SolidWorks PDM vaulting system.
* Can use Aprotec DMS vaulting system.
* Can use in-house digitising equipment and associated software to reverse engineer patterns.
* Can find solutions to complex technical problems relating to components.
* Can support design work with calculations and theory where needed.
* An awareness towards the aviation industry and its regulations.
