OverviewRole: DevSecOps EngineerLocation: Basingstoke, On Site 5 days per week Mon-FriOur purpose is to make the world more sustainable by building trust in society through innovation. As a DevSecOps Engineer you will contribute to this by driving the technical delivery of the DevSecOps (CI/CD pipelines and integrated security tooling) and associated processes, ensuring these are delivered and utilised in the most effective way. The role sits in the Digital function, with opportunities to work with cutting-edge technologies and influence our Defence customers on their digital journey. The team reports to the DevSecOps Tech Lead (MSL) and supports Scrum teams in adopting the DevOps toolchain. On project engagement, you will develop automation scripts, write build automation scripts (Ansible) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), configure and build CI/CD pipelines, and advise on DevOps tooling, best practices and secure engineering processes.You will contribute to planning, provide progress updates, and collaborate with other teams on tooling usage. ResponsibilitiesDevelop CI/CD pipelines, Ansible scripts, Terraform and automate build and deployment of software and infrastructure components using modern tools and DevSecOps best practices.Be responsible for small aspects of technical implementation, delivery and assurance of DevSecOps tooling, processes and ways of working.Contribute to technical implementation and design activities, support design decisions and assess options.Advise end users on use of DevSecOps technologies and processes.Work within a SCRUM team to support, define/prioritise work and raise risks/dependencies.Ensure the DevSecOps implementation satisfies requirements and aligns to business outcomes and security needs.Contribute to planning the work for the team.Report on progress and track it with the DevSecOps Tech Lead (MSL).Engage with other teams on the usage of the tooling.Key SkillsYour transferable skills and experience:Significant experience in implementation/configuration/usage of CI/CD pipelines (ideally Azure DevOps)IaC tooling experience with Terraform, Ansible, HarborExperience with SCA/IAST/DAST tooling (e.g., Black Duck, Coverity, Codesight, JFrog, Snyk)Automated test tooling experience (ideally Selenium / Robot Framework)Test management tooling (ideally Azure Test Plans)Secure secrets management (ideally Azure DevOps and HashiCorp Vault)Version control with GitGeneralSoftware development backgroundStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsExcellent communication and teamwork skillsDevSecOps tooling and practicesAchieve togetherWe are recognised as a responsible and inclusive employer with commitments to diversity and equal opportunity.
