Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Field Service Technicians on-site with installations, maintenance and fault diagnosis.
• Help build and test Hydro, Met and solar stations in the OTT workshop.
• Prepare service reports and documentation following fieldwork.
• Liaise with customers and client contacts to arrange site work.
• Coordinate with other departments to support customers with service queries via telephone, Teams and/or e-mail.
• Support Sales teams with service quotes.
• Work with administration to ensure professional customer visit planning and execution.
• Learn and develop technical skills and knowledge; develop the ability to work independently in the field over time.
• Other relevant duties as assigned.

Essential requirements

• Recently completed college studies or technical/vocational training, preferably in Electrical Engineering, Information & Communication Technology, or Hydrometry/Meteorology.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good IT skills and ability to quickly learn new software or tools.
• Good spoken and written English, with the ability to compile clear technical reports for customers.
• Strong ability to absorb, understand, and apply technical information in practical situations.

Nice-to-have

• Basic electrical knowledge and experience.
• Experience working with sensors, data collectors, and data processing software.
• Experience with Python and/or Pascal programming.

Location, travel and compensation

The Junior Field Service Support role is based in Sheffield, UK, with 70–80% travel across the UK, including overnight stays, and occasional overseas trips as needed. Compensation: £25,000 GBP annually.

Team and progression

You’ll work alongside Senior Field Service Technicians in the field and workshop, gaining direct customer experience and exposure across multiple departments. The long-term goal is to develop the skills and confidence to work independently in the field. Our Service Technicians are the first point of contact for customers and a key source of technical expertise, contributing to product development and commercial strategies.
