Salary: Up to £44,500 per annum (depending on experience)Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)26 days annual leave plus 8 statutory holidays (pro-rata)Company pension scheme with a 5% employer contribution (when the employee contributes 2.5%)Profit Share after qualifying periodOverviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Draughtsperson / Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering firm. The successful candidate will be involved in the design and development of equipment and solutions primarily for the wastewater industry, with a particular focus on civil and structural steelworks. While the role is primarily office-based, occasional travel across the UK will be required.Flexibility around working hours and occasional overnight stays may also be necessary.This role is ideal for someone with experience in mechanical design who is looking to contribute to challenging and varied projects in a collaborative environment.Essential to ApplyBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent vocational qualificationsStrong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and manufacturing processesProficient in 3D CAD (SolidWorks) and 2D draughting (AutoCAD)Strong background in civil and steelwork designIdeally experience working within the wastewater industryProficiency in SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D)Driving licenceKey ResponsibilitiesConduct site surveys to assess civil and structural steelwork requirementsAttend client meetings to discuss and refine technical designsPrepare general arrangement and layout drawings for a range of projectsProduce detailed manufacturing and spare parts drawings using SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D)Collaborate with internal departments including Sales, Contracts, Aftersales, and PurchasingWork closely with the Manufacturing Team and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely production solutionsCreate and manage parts lists, specifications, and other technical documentationSupport new product design and ongoing product developmentAssist in the preparation of FMEAs, survey reports, test procedures, and other supporting documentsEnsure all work is completed to high quality, safety, and environmental standardsPLEASE APPLY ONLINE.The Clever Fish Recruitment reviews all applications.
