Job Description

The Job Mission

This is a site-based role located in Bridgwater. Relocation support is available for candidates moving closer to site. As a Piping Engineer, you will support the delivery of the mechanical, electrical, and HVAC piping scope at Hinkley Point C. You will gain exposure to site-based engineering, contributing to installation activities and learning from experienced engineers as you help deliver one of the UK\'s most important energy projects.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management of piping installation within designated site areas
  • Preparing and updating technical documentation and inspection plans
  • Supporting the resolution of construction queries and technical issues
  • Reviewing and coordinating contractor deliverables with senior engineers
  • Helping to maintain works information documents and records
  • Providing input during technical discussions and project meetings
  • Ensuring construction activities align with quality and safety requirements
  • Supporting post-construction activities such as pressure testing and inspection packs

Qualifications

Essential Skills

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or relevant discipline)
  • Some experience within engineering or construction environments
  • Knowledge of engineering standards and safe working practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Good problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Willingness to develop technical expertise in a site-based role

Desired Skills

  • Experience in large infrastructure or energy projects
  • Understanding of piping design or installation practices
  • Awareness of UK construction safety regulations (CDM)
  • Interest in developing towards Chartered Engineer status
