Overview

The Medical Device Service support users of medical equipment across all of our hospital sites within the Northern Care Alliance.

You will have a key role in supporting the department's responsibility for the maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical equipment. This will include first line support to users of medical equipment to optimise system uptime and maximise the use of medical equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first line support to users of medical equipment to improve uptime and equipment availability.
  • Support maintenance, repair and sub-contractor management of medical devices.
  • Contribute to the implementation and delivery of long-term operational plans for cost-effective and efficient management and deployment of safe medical devices across the care organisations.
  • Assist in achieving and maintaining compliance levels for medical device repair and maintenance, including downtime, and ensure systems enable clinical teams to have insights into progress with maintenance and repairs of their devices.

Qualifications

  • Ideally, a minimum of HNC in Mechanical or Operations, or Mechatronics engineering, with relevant experience since qualifying in the field of Medical Equipment.
  • Knowledge in the application and repair of a wide range of medical equipment used in hospital and community settings; some specific training will be provided.
  • Consideration may be given to applicants with reduced knowledge and skills who follow a personnel development program on a reduced grade.
  • Please note that, for this post, you will be required to have obtained a full UK Driving Licence.
