Here, you can apply your talent in bold ways that matter.Job Description:The Impact You’ll Make in this RoleAs a Laboratory Test Engineer based at our Skelmersdale Plant, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world.Here, you will make an impact by:Performing testing on Respiratory and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) product to comply with EN Standards and aid in the development of those products through testing.Completing development, qualification, pre-compliance and audit testing, supporting current and future certifications of respiratory protection productsUnderstanding test methods and updating documentation when/if required.Liaising with other Test Laboratories to establish procedures and test methods for continuous improvement opportunitiesSupporting test equipment calibration as per schedule and support safety audits and risk assessmentsManaging consumables for test equipmentWorking collaboratively within the R&D organization and closely with the product engineers, product developers, certification and compliance teamsSupporting the Quality management system to support current certifications and accreditation of the R&D laboratoryYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M is looking for candidates who meet following minimum requirements:Experience of working in a test laboratoryAbility to understand and interpret dataProficient in Word, Excel, TeamsAdditional knowledge / nice-to-have skills / preferred qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Educated to degree level or higherUnderstanding of respiratory protection and SCBA products (performance, testing, release criteria)Knowledge of respiratory protection testing requirementsAwareness of EN standards for Respiratory and SCBA testingAwareness of Gas and Vapor testing methods.Awareness of Reusable Respirators, Powered and Supplied Air and SCBA productsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAttention to detailProficient in MinitabJob Location:Skelmersdale.
