Overview

Lead Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role at Graphics Unlimited (Vic) Pty Ltd. This role focuses on designing, building and running cloud platforms that support critical public services. The position involves hands-on work with container platforms, infrastructure as code, CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services, with an emphasis on security, scalability and reliability. You will collaborate with other technical teams and mentor junior engineers while helping shape the technical direction of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and operate container-related infrastructure solutions and services.
  • Manage Kubernetes-based environments, including cluster administration and related technologies (e.g., Flux, Argo CD, Helm).
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or equivalent.
  • Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code; manage cloud-based applications and services.
  • Support live services, investigate issues, ensure platform health and performance.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical direction.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience leading teams in design, implementation, administration and support of container infrastructure solutions.
  • Extensive expertise in container build and runtime environments and Kubernetes administration.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and IaC practice.
  • Deep knowledge of developing and supporting cloud-based applications (Cloud Infrastructure Engineering).

Details, Wages and Perks

  • Location: Hybrid model with options at multiple digital hubs (e.g., Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield).
  • Hybrid Working: Some time at home and some time in a hub.
  • Pay: Up to £89,995 per year.
  • Pension: Employer contributions of 28.97% into a civil service pension (value over £20,000 per year).
  • Holidays: 26 days rising to 31 days with time off in lieu options and public holidays.
