The ideal candidate:

We are seeking a Lead Network Engineer with strong expertise in cloud networking (AWS/Azure) and enterprise-scale infrastructure. The successful candidate will bring deep hands-on" experience with network operating systems, a track record of building and supporting modern networks, and strong project management, troubleshooting, and leadership skills.

Candidates with proven experience in automation, routing protocols, and load balancers will be highly regarded. A passion for mentoring and the ability to communicate complex solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are essential.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted technical resource for FactSet's clients, vendors, and internal leaders.
  • Lead and project manage business and network team initiatives.
  • Configure and optimise Cisco / Arista routers and switches, F5 load balancers, and AWS networking services .
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Provide expert-level support during network incidents and troubleshoot across all layers.
  • Research, design, and implement new connectivity with market data providers and third parties .
  • Drive automation initiatives using Python, Ansible, templates, and workflow systems.
  • Mentor and guide team members, helping them achieve project and career goals.
  • Participate in a shared shift rotation providing Saturday & Sunday on-call coverage.
Minimum Requirements:
  • BS degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12 years of relevant network engineering experience.
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong expertise in cloud networking (AWS) .
  • Experience designing and maintaining enterprise or financial networks .
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting or automation language (Python, Ansible).
Critical Skills:
  • Solid knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, Multicast) , TCP/IP, DNS, and LAN switching.
  • Experience with network operating systems (IOS, JunOS, Linux).
  • Load Balancers: F5 LTM, ASM, iRules, A10, AWS ELB, Global Accelerator, CDN .
  • DNS: Infoblox, Cloudflare, AWS Route53, Efficient-IP .
  • Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise tasks effectively.
