Overview
Lead DevOps Engineer role for the Universal Credit and Working Age Benefits programmes. You will be part of a multi-functional agile delivery team shaping and delivering automated solutions that enable Universal Credit Working Age Benefits to deliver quality services.

Responsibilities
- Lead engineers as well as collaborate with researchers, testers, architects, analysts and designers as part of multi-functional agile delivery teams.
- Develop, build and maintain our flagship service, Universal Credit and our Working Age Benefits.
- Help deliver automated solutions that meet the needs of agents and claimants, and continuously improve service quality.
- Lead in building a supportive engineering community of practice, coaching and mentoring DevOps Engineers.

Role requirements
- Significant demonstrable experience of leading teams in a DevOps environment – Continuous Integration & Deployment, delivery methods and techniques, including agile.
- Significant experience of working and leading in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, delivering products within specific timescales and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Significant demonstrable experience of designing, implementing and supporting Unix/Linux based platforms and developing solutions using scripting languages.
- Significant Unix/Linux in a support role and/or demonstrable experience of using development environments including scripting languages.
- Significant demonstrable experience in developing and supporting cloud-based applications in AWS (and/or Azure), Dynatrace, and implementing dashboards and alerting mechanisms.
- Significant demonstrable knowledge of implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI.
- Significant demonstrable experience in designing and implementing best practices using IaC tools such as Terraform, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus & Grafana.
