Overview

Lead Electrical Engineer opportunity for a 12 month outside IR35 contract. Location: Woking, with at least 4 days per week on site and 1 day from home. Project scope includes an onshore FEED for a client based in the Middle East.

Responsibilities

  • Execute project work in accordance with Discipline Design Instructions and Company/Project Procedures on Safety and Quality Control within man-hour, cost budgets and schedule targets.
  • Develop electrical deliverables: Base of Design, Load list, Single line diagram, drawings, diagrams, Specification, Calculation, System study, Input to layout, Input to equipment list, Input to cost estimate, Electrical narrative in concept report, Deliverables.
  • Manage electrical engineering services to meet specifications, on time and within budget.
  • Manage electrical engineering project requirements and services: participate in meetings, prepare progress reports, comply with checking procedures; ensure the project scope is clear and changes comply with change management processes.
  • Provide guidance during procurement, construction and commissioning activities (e.g., oversee requisitions, technical bid evaluations, purchase orders).
  • Act as electrical engineering Lead on specific projects; resolve discrepancies between requirements of the Company and the Customer.
  • Identify issues, develop solutions, and seek assistance when required.
  • Design electrical distribution systems in FEED/detailed design for new plants within a project team environment.
  • Prepare Electrical equipment specifications, data sheets and purchasing requisitions.
  • Develop/Coordinate protective relay settings and coordination studies; Load List and Electrical equipment sizing.
  • Design LV & MV Single Line Diagrams with knowledge of relay and metering systems for substations and e-houses; design motor protection and control schematics/wiring.
  • Review vendor designs for compliance with specifications and standards; support team members on projects.
  • Update electrical schedule progress on assigned projects; provide Electrical BOMs and major equipment costs for capital cost estimates at various project stages (Feasibility Study, PDB and Detailed Engineering).
  • Establish scope of work, develop engineering cost estimates and deliverable lists.
  • Attend project team, Client and vendor meetings; establish good working relationships with Clients; review designs for constructability and alignment with project requirements.
