OverviewLead Engineer - Climate & Thermal Systems based in Gaydon, The UK. Lead the sub system engineers and be responsible for deliverables for all aspects of defined component(s) / system(s).ResponsibilitiesEstablishing, planning and running engineering sub system meetings to ensure cross functional representation and input from all relevant areas.Thermal System Design & DocumentationStudy of Thermal System Layout (HVAC and Powertrain).Support implementation of design concepts from component design to finished system.Thermal management and aerodynamic performance of the Thermal system; technical responsibility for the thermal design of HVAC system.Thermal interface across the business with multiple cross functional teams.Determining & managing requirements, generating and modelling concepts to meet these requirements, and ranking concepts to support down-selection.Analyzing and interpreting data and presenting results and solutions.Create System Level DVP and DFMEA.Development of 1D GT-Suite models for all the Thermal Systems; modify models to meet client requirements.Estimate cooling capacity of HVAC systems; correlate vehicle test results with 1D model.CAD model inspection, import and modification using Cool 3D; implement as a simple Heat addition Model; integrate Cool 3D with 1D GT-Suite Model.Understand plant model requirements and perform necessary modifications.Prepare Simulation Reports.Testing and Analysis: Develop Test Plan for the RIG and Vehicle (BEV); prepare instrumentation list and suggest instrumentation locations; participate in vehicle tests; analyze results and optimise the system.Other Responsibilities: establish the team work plan; ensure progress with action owners; publish meeting minutes; ensure subsystem delivers objectives and targets; ensure programme timing objectives are met; communicate team progress to management; apply APQP to manage system/ component delivery; ensure vehicle builds have parts at required levels; address and close issues; escalate unresolved issues to Module Leader; identify risks to the programme.Knowledge / ExperienceProven project management capability with delivery on time & budget.Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements.Excellent communication skills; ability to communicate at all levels.Significant experience in use of engineering tools (FMEA, Six Sigma, problem resolution).Successful history of delivery within the automotive sector.Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.Preferred: CAD literacy and ability to manipulate CAD data; Catia v5 experience is advantageous; working knowledge of PPAP and related processes.In return for bringing your expertiseWe offer a competitive salary along with excellent benefits including:Pension Scheme – we match employee contribution up to 5% of salaryTata Jaguar Land Rover Privilege Scheme - up to 20% off new JLR vehiclesHealth Assured – Employee Assistance ProgramHealth Shield – Private Health Cash PlanApplication note: Tata Technologies thanks all applicants for their interest.
