THE ROLE:

TheLead Engineeris responsible forleadership of thesub system engineers andis responsible fordeliverables for all aspects of defined component(s) / system(s).

AREA OF RESPONSABILITY:

This positionisresponsible forestablishing,planningand running the engineering sub systemmeetings to ensureappropriate crossfunctional representation and input from all relevant areas. You will have responsibility for:

Thermal System Design & Documentation

  • Study of Thermal System Layout (HVAC and Powertrain)

  • Responsible for supporting implementation of design concepts fromcomponentdesign to finished system.

  • Responsible for all activities related to thermal management and aerodynamic performance of the Thermal system.

  • Technical responsibility for the thermal design of HVAC system.

  • Thermal interface across the business with multiple cross functional teams.

  • Determining & managing requirements, generating and modelling concepts to meet these requirements, and ranking concepts to support down-selection.

  • Analysing and interpreting data and presenting results and solutions.

  • Create System Level DVP and DFMEA

1D /3D Analysis

  • Development of 1D GT-Suite models for all the Thermal Systems

  • Understanding Client requirements and modification of the model.

  • Estimation of cooling capacity of HVAC systems.

  • Correlation of the Vehicle test results with 1D model.

  • Inspection of CAD model, importing and modification using Cool 3D .

  • Implementation of this model as a simple Heat addition Model for simplification purposes

  • Integration of correlated Cool 3D model into 1D GT-Suite Model.

  • Understanding the requirements of Plant model, carrying out necessary modifications.

  • Preparation of the Simulation Reports

Testing and Analysis

  • Development of Test Plan for the RIG and Vehicle (BEV)

  • Preparation of instrumentation list and suggestion of precise location for instrumentation.

  • Participate in Vehicle tests

  • Test Result analysis and optimisation of system.

Other Responsibilities

  • Establishing theteam workplan

  • Ensuring progress is made by following up actions with their owners.

  • Publishing minutes from each meeting

  • Ensuring that the engineering sub-systemdelivers itsobjectivesand targets (technical and business)

  • Ensuring that programme timingobjectivesare met

  • Communicating team progressto management

  • Ensuring the effective application of APQP to manage system/ component delivery

  • Ensuring vehicle builds are supported with parts at the required level

  • Ensuring that issues are addressed and closed off

  • Ensuring that issues thatcannot be resolvedare escalated to Module Leader

  • Identifyingall risks to the programme.

KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE:

Essential:

  • Proven project management capabilitydemonstratedby recent delivery on time & budget

  • Engineering knowledge of defined component(s) / system(s) design, function, performance, production & manufacturing requirements,

  • Excellent communications skills,demonstratedability to communicate at all levels,

  • PC Literacy: Microsoft Project, Power Point, Excel, Word etc

  • Significant experiencein use of engineering tools FMEA,Six Sigma,problem resolution etc.

  • Successful history ofdelivery within the automotive sector.

  • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.

Preferred:

  • CAD Literacy: ability to manipulate and interrogate CAD data and use associated visualisation tools.

  • Ability to generate CAD data in Catia v5 would be an advantage.

  • Working knowledge ofproject delivery processes e.g.PPAP Working.
