OverviewLead Engineer - Landing Gear - AviationLocation: Hayes, UKResponsibilitiesAct as the technical lead for a designated landing gear product line.Support new customer development and contribute to technical aspects of the sales process.Lead cost base development, including Service Bulletin and Service Letter costing and charging.Maintain and analyse product standards and performance trends.Validate customer specifications and ensure engineering teams are equipped for task execution.Serve as a technical escalation point for internal departments.Drive technical projects from concept to completion:Develop work breakdown structures, business cases, and risk assessments.Manage schedules and critical paths.Collaborate across multiple sites to share best practices and technical expertise.Build and maintain a robust technical knowledge base for legacy, current, and future landing gear types.Create detailed project plans and tracking systems.Communicate project objectives clearly across all levels of the organisation.Essential Criteria - Landing Gear ExpertiseIn-depth understanding of landing gear systems, including their mechanical, hydraulic, and structural components.Proven ability to interpret and distil complex technical data related to landing gear performance, maintenance, and compliance.Familiarity with aircraft documentation systems (AMM, IPC, CMM) and their integration within MRP/SERP platforms (e.g., SAP, AMOS).Experience working within EASA-approved environments (21J, 21G, 145), with a strong grasp of airworthiness regulations.Ability to lead investigations into landing gear issues and translate findings into actionable engineering solutions.Education & QualificationsDegree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering preferred; Mechanical Engineering disciplines considered.LEAN qualification desirable.Project Management certification (e.g., Prince2, PMP) advantageous; demonstrable project management skills essential.Additional language skills (German/French) beneficial but not required.Experience & SkillsSignificant aerospace experience, ideally within an MRO environment.Strong communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.Proficiency in SAP Engineering systems and MRO processes.Experience managing cross-functional project teams (no direct reports).Additional InformationMust have the right to live and work in the UK without restriction.Mandatory training will be provided. #J-18808-Ljbffr
