Overview

Lead HCI Infrastructure Engineer (Nutanix) – London / WFH to £125k. You will drive the design, implementation and operation of secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure across on‑premise, cloud and hybrid environments. You will provide technical leadership on Nutanix HCI, manage several thousand virtual machines and help adopt Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.

Location / Work Model: hybrid with two days per week in the office; when in the office you will be based in the City with an upbeat team environment and facilities including a roof terrace, restaurant and break out areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and guidance on Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) across multiple environments.
• Design and implement secure, scalable and resilient infrastructure to support a fast‑growing retail brokerage business.
• Collaborate with software engineers, DevOps and SRE teams to align infrastructure with application requirements and define infrastructure standards across teams.
• Manage several thousand virtual machines and drive the adoption of IaC using Terraform.
• Lead infrastructure initiatives and mentor teammates, promoting best practices in reliability, performance and security.

Qualifications / About You

• In-depth knowledge of Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI), including infrastructure, virtualization and cloud-native components.
• Experience with hypervisors: Hyper-V in Nutanix clusters, VM provisioning, live migration, cloning, snapshots and Disaster Recovery within HCI environments.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage and network layers.
• Technical leadership and mentoring skills.
• Collaborative and pragmatic with strong communication skills, comfortable working with other teams and business stakeholders.
