OverviewROLE: Lead Mechanical Engineer LOCATION: Bristol TERM: Permanent SALARY: £50,000 - £60,000, dependent on experienceMy client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis. The role will involve designing, testing, and developing bespoke products, and managing a small team.ResponsibilitiesLead and project manage the design, prototyping, development, testing and introduction of new productsManage 4-6 direct reportsUse 3D CAD for concept design and producing technical drawingsSuccessfully deliver projects on time and on budgetDesign and develop new productsMaintain technical documentation as requiredLiaise with manufacturing providersBe involved in final assembly of productsCreate the required documentation for design as well as project reports / plansUpdate 3D models and drawingsInput parts into the MRP system and create BOMsCheck drawings for sign offWork in a small, multidisciplinary teamQualifications / AttributesBe a self-starter, with strong leadership skills and the ability to think outside the box and own projectsAt least 5 years\' experience in a similar Mechanical Design / Mechanical Testing / Product Development positionExperience designing bespoke products from scratchAnalytical mindset and good problem-solving skillsDegree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similarProficient using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.Knowledge of a variety of materials and manufacturing processes, including sheet metal, machining, injection moulded plastics etc.Strong leadership skillsGood theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and writtenBe able to work well individually as well as part of a teamIf you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible #J-18808-Ljbffr
