    The Opportunity

    The Lead Mobile (iOS) Software Engineer plays a pivotal role in both the design and implementation of Landmark Group Products, applications, tools and services, using native iOS languages, technologies and frameworks.

    Technology and innovation play a vital part of the groups future and as a Lead Mobile Software Engineer, you’ll be responsible for participating in regular technical sessions and also talking to the community about frameworks, tools, techniques and best practices, focused within the mobile technology eco system.

    AS one of the most senior Software Engineer’s on the team, you will also support the tribes Head of Engineering by providing coaching to a discrete group of individuals. You will also play a pivotal role in writing a low level design for the services that need to be implemented. This may also need to be taken to architectural review, where the principle of the design is discussed within a wider group of architectural professionals.

    About You

    To be successful as the Lead Mobile (iOS) Software Engineer you will need extensive software development experience. You will also have/be:

  • Excellent knowledge of Swift/Swift UI/Swift Data including relevant framework design patterns and IOS native best practices
  • Knowledge of the most up to date versions of IOS native features, frameworks and tooling
  • Detailed knowledge of testing within Swift, both unit and integration
  • Detailed knowledge of logging frameworks and best practices around supportability and SDLC practices
  • A proven commercial history for not only developing sophisticated mobile applications in swift & swift UI, but how to ensure successful delivery within the apple store and the reviewing process
  • The ability to understand and coach other members of the team about memory profiling, performance and code efficiencies towards cleaner application architecture when developing native apps would be a distinct advantage
  • Lead software engineers form an important role within our technical services and as such, it is not only a requirement to be able to develop well engineered solutions, but the successful candidate will also need effective communication skills. We are also looking for skills for the following:

  • The ability to write and understand feature tickets as part of a backlog or active sprint
  • Supporting product managers and the Head of Delivery / Engineering in prioritising the work items and understanding how each ticket fits within an end to end use case
  • Able to effectively communicate design decisions with peers and take an active role within the lead software engineering forum
  • Able to manage and facilitate effective agile ceremonies such as daily scrum and planning
  • Able to communicate and demonstrate capabilities within an audience including senior stake holders such as senior project managers and the Heads of roles
