About the Role

We’re looking for a Lead Software Engineer / Tech Lead who enjoys combining hands-on technical expertise with guiding and enabling others. This is a practical role – you’ll design and build scalable systems while supporting a small team of engineers to deliver software that is reliable, well-tested, and meaningful for our customers.

As the technical lead, you’ll model high standards in code quality, testing, and delivery, while mentoring and supporting those around you. You’ll help simplify complexity, embed best practices, and encourage a culture of shared ownership and continuous learning.

This is a senior engineering role where you’ll remain hands-on while influencing the technical direction and team culture, without moving into people management.

Key Responsibilities

Lead by example: Write high-quality, maintainable code while fostering best practices across the team.

Technical impact: Design and deliver scalable, performant systems that support high traffic, data volumes, transactional environments.

Customer focus: Translate business needs into impactful technical solutions with a product-first mindset

Champion quality: Ensure all software is sufficiently tested, monitored, and built with reliability in mind.

Collaboration: Partner with Product, Design, and stakeholders to align priorities and deliver value quickly and effectively.

Team support: Mentor and coach team members, helping them grow technically and professionally.

Shape technical direction: Contribute to architecture discussions and help evolve our systems for growth and scale.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience as a full-stack engineer or tech lead within collaborative product engineering teams.
  • Background in building distributed, scalable, and reliable systems.
  • Familiarity with high-transaction, high-traffic, or low-latency environments.
  • Hands-on experience with modern technologies. Our stack includes React, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, and Kubernetes.
  • Commitment to writing secure, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • A supportive leader who builds trust, inclusivity, and shared responsibility within the team.
  • Any exposure to AdTech, such as audience segmentation, programmatic buying, real-time bidding, personalised ad delivery, or campaign optimisation, is beneficial.

What Success Looks Like (6 – 12 months):

  • Delivered impactful, scalable solutions to business needs and led at least one initiative end-to-end.
  • Raised standards on testing, observability, and code quality within the team.
  • Built trust as a hands-on tech lead while validating product solutions and guiding direction.
  • Helped deliver software that is reliable, user-focused, and aligned to business goals.
  • Contributed to evolving the tech stack and practices to support growth and scale.
