Lead Software Engineer - Java/React at JPMorganChase

Responsibilities

• Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with the ability to think beyond routine approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
• Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others
• Identify opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability of software applications and systems
• Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to probe architectural designs and applicability for current systems
• Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to promote new technologies
• Foster an inclusive team culture with diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills (Required)

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with proficient experience
• Hands-on experience developing UI and server-side software
• Advanced proficiency in at least one of Java or React
• Practical cloud experience
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods
• Full lifecycle Software Development Life Cycle proficiency
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
• Proven experience with software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI/ML, mobile)
• Knowledge of the financial services industry and related IT systems
• Hands-on cloud-native experience

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

• Experience with EKS on AWS
• Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana)
