Lead Software Verification Engineer role at Evolito LtdEvolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Lead Software Verification Engineer to lead the verification of the embedded software systems for Evolito motor controller products through to certification under the guidelines of RTCA DO-178C, Design Assurance Level (DAL) A.ResponsibilitiesLeading requirements-based testing for both low level unit testing and Hardware-in-the-loop test environments.Developing the underlying unit and HiL test environments to achieve faster and higher quality results.Executing tests, capturing results and logging of any resolution or improvement actions.Owning the software test plan to meet the timing goals of Evolito’s development projects and for final flight certification.Peer reviewing of artefacts produced during the development of the Evolito system.Supporting communication between the software development team and the wider project team.Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and coordinating cross-team activities.Responsible for the verification aspects of the software development process for Design Assurance Level (DAL) A of RTCA DO-178C.Ensuring the use of development best practices and support process improvement activities.Skills and experience requiredDegree or equivalent in software or electrical engineeringPrevious experience in the verification of embedded software in safety critical products, e.g. to RTCA DO-178C (or DO-178B) DAL A or B or ISO26262 ASIL D/CExperience developing code in C programming languageExperience of scripting, for example in PythonUnit testing using for example: LDRA, Cantata, VectorCAST etc.Verification of model-based software using MATLABFamiliarity with Agile software development & DevOps methodologies and industry best practices for software developmentExperience with requirements and lifecycle management tools such as DOORS, Polarion, codeBeamer or Dimensions CMCreative problem solver, with a logical approach to implementing solutions.Good verbal and written communication skillsA flexible approach to work with the desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment within a small companySelf-motivated with the determination to succeedDesirableExperience of unit testing tools for example: LDRA, Cantata, VectorCAST, etc.Experience of HiL base test developmentExperience of Azure DevOps, CI/CD and automated test pipelinesKnowledge of common graphical modelling languages such as UML and SysMLSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionQuality AssuranceIndustriesAviation and Aerospace Component ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Evolito Ltd by 2x.Get notified about new Software Verification Engineer jobs in Bicester, England, United Kingdom.Location notes and recent postings: Abingdon-On-Thames, Milton Keynes, Banbury, Leighton Buzzard and other nearby areas.
