Linux Engineer – Contract - Hybrid (2 days onsite in Leeds). This is an initial 3-6 month contract, paying £500 per day, inside IR35, 2 days a week onsite in central Leeds.

We are seeking an experienced contract Linux Engineer to join a leading enterprise client on a major infrastructure transformation programme. This role will focus on building secure, production-ready Linux environments and automating infrastructure patterns to enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities Build Linux (RHEL) vanilla images and implement security hardening to meet enterprise and compliance standards. Collaborate with the lead engineer to design and deliver automated build pipelines and repeatable Day-2 operational patterns. Contribute to the uplift of older OS versions and support integration with backup/recovery systems for onboarding applications. Work closely with VMware vRealize Orchestrator (vRO) developers to orchestrate provisioning workflows and deliver end-to-end automation. Ensure Linux environments are production-ready , resilient, and capable of supporting enterprise workloads.
