Overview Role: Lock Out Tag Out Engineer Location: Plymouth, Devon Site: Devonport Royal Dockyard Status: Full time / Permanent, 35 hours per week At Babcock we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together, and if you join us, you can play your part as a Lock Out Tag Out Engineer at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site. You’ll help ensure the safety and efficiency of all operations on the submarine, contributing to the vessel\'s readiness and crew safety. Responsibilities
Manage the Lock Out Tag Out system to guarantee equipment and systems are safely isolated during maintenance Approve and release critical work tasks such as essential repairs or system upgrades Maintain important work schedules and participate in planning meetings with Babcock and Royal Navy personnel Contribute to planning and organizing work to meet the highest safety standards Check and improve safety procedures to enhance overall safety Support teams in the safe release / system of work for planned and unplanned maintenance
Essential Experience
Understanding of the principles of Control of Work and safe systems of work processes Understanding of engineering processes with a focus on safety Good communication skills Understanding of Health and Safety legislation – desirable Knowledge of submarine or surface ship systems – desirable
Qualifications
NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in an engineering discipline (minimum)
Security Clearance The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
