We’re seeking an exceptional Linux Engineer to optimise global low-latency trading infrastructure in a buy side firm. This is a high-impact role where your engineering decisions directly affect execution speed, trading performance, and profitability. You’ll work alongside world-class developers, quants, and platform engineers to design and refine deterministic, microsecond-level systems. This isn’t a support or networking role—it’s deep OS-level engineering for those who thrive on kernel tuning, bare-metal optimisation, and performance-critical code.

What You’ll Do

  • Engineer and tune RHEL for ultra-low-latency workloads: IRQ handling, CPU pinning, NUMA optimisation, memory management
  • Optimise BIOS/firmware, CPU scheduling, cache utilisation, and pipeline efficiency
  • Deploy NVMe over RoCE for high-performance storage
  • Manage and optimise PTP timing across the estate
  • Build observability tooling and packet capture solutions for latency analysis
  • Write high-performance infrastructure code in Python, Java, or Golang
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate performance enhancements into trading platforms

What You Bring

  • Proven Linux performance engineering in ultra-low-latency environments
  • Strong coding skills (Python, Java, or Golang) and ability to debug at system/kernel level
  • Deep understanding of CPU architecture (Intel/AMD), NUMA, and cache hierarchies
  • Hands-on experience with kernel-bypass frameworks and low-level networking
  • Familiarity with FIX protocol, multicast messaging, and managed runtime tuning
  • Experience with PTP timing, packet capture, and latency profiling tools
