An established British engineering firm is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join its busy and supportive Machine Shop team. This company operates at the forefront of aerospace manufacturing, with products used globally to protect lives in critical situations.
The Role
Reporting to the Machine Shop Manager, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for the upkeep, repair and preventative maintenance of CNC machinery, ensuring downtime is minimised and production targets are consistently met. This is a hands-on role, suited to someone who thrives in a manufacturing environment and enjoys solving technical challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out preventative maintenance in line with schedules and manufacturer specifications
Replacing worn components, wiring and parts as required
Diagnosing and repairing faults on CNC machinery (including 4 & 5 axis machining centres and CNC turning machines)
Coordinating with external suppliers for specialist repairs
Operating forklifts and lifting equipment to move materials and components
Person Specification
IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification
Forklift licence
Skilled in the use of hand tools and electrical testers
Experience maintaining CNC machine tools within a manufacturing setting
