OverviewMaintenance Engineer (Mechanically Biased) – South Essex (RM18)Commutable from Grays, Romford, Purfleet, Basildon, Southend-On-Sea, Wickford.Working hours: Monday to Friday, Days (08:00–16:30) with a 1 in 6 on-call rota (24/7).Salary: £47,000 rising to £52,000 after training.Benefits: up to 10% matched private pension, four times life assurance, staff discount schemes, yearly salary reviews, EAP, uniform & PPE, 25 days holiday + bank holidays, free lunches, long-service awards.Our client is a leading manufacturer within a multi-billion-pound global group, known for product quality and industry-leading standards. They are looking for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, mechanically biased, to join their close-knit team.Role & ResponsibilitiesCarry out preventive maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and breakdown analysis.Maintain industrial processing and manufacturing equipment.Work on machinery and systems such as conveyors, silos, blowers, presses, baggers, production equipment, mixers, steam & boiler systems, and industrial control systems.Perform electrical and mechanical fault finding, analysis, and repair.Be part of the 1 in 6 week on-call rota (24/7).Carry out daily inspection checks, asset care management, project work, continuous improvements, and weekly/monthly site equipment inspections.Stores and spare parts management and use of Maximo asset care management systems.Knowledge, Skills & ExperienceMust be a mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer.Completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship with formal qualifications.Able to react to breakdowns effectively, safely and efficiently.Electrical and mechanical fault-finding capabilities.Experience in food, FMCG, or fast-paced industrial manufacturing preferred.Flexible character willing to participate in an on-call rota and work extra hours if needed.Experience with heavy industrial manufacturing equipment/systems; experience with compressors, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, chains, belts, blowers, rollers.Ideally able to electrically fault-find on PLCs, 3-phase motors, and control systems.Mechanical fabrication, fitting, and welding experience.Self-motivated, a team player, strong communicator, enthusiastic, and driven.How to ApplyTo apply please email your CV / resume to [ ]Chris Gumm – phone number redacted.Employer InformationHunter Selection Limited is a recruitment consultancy with offices UK wide, specialising in permanent & contract roles within Engineering & Manufacturing, IT & Digital, Science & Technology and Service & Sales sectors.Please note that we respond to applicants whose skills and qualifications are suitable for this position.
