Overview
We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Wellington Hospital. This role is vital in ensuring a first-class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.
What You’ll Do
- Maintaining, servicing and testing various electrical and mechanical plants such as AHUs, air conditioning systems, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems and generators.
- Ensure a safe working environment at all times and adhere to HCA Healthcare policy and procedures.
- Be the main point of contact for all engineering and maintenance queries at 40 Bank Street.
- Carry out PPMs and daily checks of plant areas, ensuring the area is well maintained, operational and tidy at all times.
- Work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.
- Carry out water management control measures as required by the Water Risk Assessment (e.g., flushing and temperature monitoring). Maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Respond to and complete incoming works logged on the CAFM system, Engineering Central; prioritise workload and respond quickly to emergency and reactive maintenance as requested.
- Liaise with the Landlord Management team and coordinate any works affecting HCA demise, attending update meetings as required.
- On-site contractor management, reviewing RAMs and raising permits to work.
- Assist in projects as required.
What You’ll Bring
- Qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ in plumbing or an engineering building services qualification).
- Good understanding of BMS systems.
- Knowledge of water hygiene and Legionella management.
- Previous experience within a hospital or similar organisation.
- Health and safety, COSHH.
- General knowledge of fire regulations.
- Excellent customer care and communication skills.
- Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
