Overview

We’re looking for a Building Maintenance Engineer to join our Estates team based at The Wellington Hospital. This role is vital in ensuring a first-class building maintenance service within the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.

What You’ll Do

• Maintaining, servicing and testing various electrical and mechanical plants such as AHUs, air conditioning systems, emergency lighting, fire alarm systems and generators.
• Ensure a safe working environment at all times and adhere to HCA Healthcare policy and procedures.
• Be the main point of contact for all engineering and maintenance queries at 40 Bank Street.
• Carry out PPMs and daily checks of plant areas, ensuring the area is well maintained, operational and tidy at all times.
• Work on planned preventive maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives.
• Carry out water management control measures as required by the Water Risk Assessment (e.g., flushing and temperature monitoring). Maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Respond to and complete incoming works logged on the CAFM system, Engineering Central; prioritise workload and respond quickly to emergency and reactive maintenance as requested.
• Liaise with the Landlord Management team and coordinate any works affecting HCA demise, attending update meetings as required.
• On-site contractor management, reviewing RAMs and raising permits to work.
• Assist in projects as required.

What You’ll Bring

• Qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g., City & Guilds or NVQ in plumbing or an engineering building services qualification).
• Good understanding of BMS systems.
• Knowledge of water hygiene and Legionella management.
• Previous experience within a hospital or similar organisation.
• Health and safety, COSHH.
• General knowledge of fire regulations.
• Excellent customer care and communication skills.
• Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
